Copyright Photographe XFor the past 20 years, the Bureau de tourisme et des congrès de Saint-Hyacinthe has been offering services, most of them free of charge, to help group organizers who have chosen Saint-Hyacinthe and the surrounding area as a destination.

  • Loan of photographs for your ads and brochures.
  • Proposed custom-designed tours.
  • Tour coordination services (offered when you use our step-on guide service).
  • Step-on guide service (at a charge).
  • Commented tour of the city (at a charge).

Sightseeing tours

Copyright Photographe XSuch tours are intended for social and recreational groups (seniors and pensioners associations, women's groups, etc.) as well as for groups of conventioneers and the people accompanying them. The proposed visits last on average 1h30 min., and are possible mostly from June to September. (Some visits may be only in French or partly in English.)

For example, be sure to visit such unique attractions as the Jardin Daniel A. Séguin with its nineteen thematic gardens, the natural setting of Chouette à voir! offering presentations with live birds of prey and Cactée, Centre d'interprétation de la flore désertique, the biggest grower of cactus and succulent in the province of Québec. Visit the contemporary art centre of Saint-Hyacinthe, a micro-brewery relating to the 19th century ambiance, Le Bilboquet, Saint-Hyacinthe's downtown with its old market or the new concept of Terroir Etcetera, including fine food, café bistro, vineard and a an art gallery. Several churches and chapels also open their doors to visitors for them to discover some of our rich heritage. Schedule a stop at the Centre Élisabeth-Bergeron to learn about the history of a teaching order of nuns or at the Cathedrale.

For outdoors activities, get a taste of our region's wide variety of produces when you visit regional producers and pick your own fruits and vegetables, or planned an outdoor day with horses for groups up to 20 to 250 at the École d'équitation Mille Cent Un.

Every year, our region hosts a wide variety of events. From our well-known agricultural fair to trade fairs (Salon des métiers d'art, Foire du bois) and all kinds of festivals (Festival du maïs, le Rendez-vous des papilles) as well as music festivals (country, western), our region can undoubtedly provide an event to make your group outings more enjoyable. Tours for children

In Saint-Hyacinthe, groups of 15 to 150 children (from schools, day-care and recreation centres, preschools, etc.) can take part in various tours and visits lasting from an hour to a full day.

There are for example commented tours (of a contemporary art centre, a flower park, beekeeping concerns, etc.) and activities to introduce children to birds of prey in the natural setting of Chouette à voir!, to life on the farm at the Ferme du Coq à l'âne and to horseback riding at the École d'équitation Mille Cent Un. Recreational activities (such as sports and water-related activities) are also available for your pleasure.

Our region boasts many restaurants serving all kind of food, sugarhouses, country feasts, and more than 600 guests rooms.
