Activities specially designed for Spring Break

Plaisirs relâche
Saint-Hyacinthe

You are not dreaming! Plaisirs Relâche is an indoor amusement park specially designed to give you thrills from Sunday March 1st to Thursday March 5th. With its twenty-five rides, inflatable games and skill challenges, you will certainly have a good time with your children, their friends, their cousins, some neighbors, etc. There will be room for everyone!

Journées Blanches
Saint-Jude

Chouette à voir! opens its doors to you in the middle of winter during the Journées Blanches from Saturday February 29th to Monday March 2nd and from Friday March 6th to Sunday March 8th. Come discover the peculiarities of birds of prey, walk the trails and visit their rehabilitation complex. You can even trek in snowshoes and slide down a hill. Reserve your place immediately for one of the night safaris on Saturday evenings, February 29th or March 7th.

La Vallée du Wapiti
Saint-Bernard-de-Michaudville

Would you like to meet this beautiful animal? On Saturday, February 29th, la Vallée du Wapiti (Elk Valley) will welcome you to its breeding farm for a guided tour. Each step will make you discover different aspects of these impressive animals such as its origins, its antlers and its young. To reserve your place: 450 792-2112.

Ciné-Passion Jeunes
Saint-Hyacinthe

Starting at 10 a.m. from Monday March 2nd to Friday March 6th, the Cinéma Saint-Hyacinthe will offer a free seat to children under 12 ($ 6.50 for children 13 and over). Open up your bag of popcorn (can you imagine the smell …!), You can watch one (two, three or even all) of the four animated films offered: The Addams Family, Angry Birds 2, Abominable and The Secret Life of Pets 2. Which one will you choose?

Ouchie!
Sainte-Madeleine and Saint-Hyacinthe

Cacti are so cute! Did you know that they grow by the thousands in our region? Indeed, Le Cactus Fleuri, located in Sainte-Madeleine, is a major greenhouse cactus producer in Quebec. If you are interested in the matter, you will have two opportunities to learn more, either on Saturday March 7th during a guided tour of Cactus Fleuri ($ 6, free for children under 12, reservation at 450 795-3383) or again during the Plants and Cacti Fair which will take place at the Galeries St-Hyacinthe from Friday March 6th to Sunday March 8th. You can even taste an edible variety on site!

A magical day

Transform your Tuesday March 3rd holiday into a MAGICAL day! This will be possible thanks to the Centre des Arts Juliette-Lassonde. In the morning, take part in a magic workshop which will prepare you to attend the show by the magician Marc Trudel presented in the afternoon. Parc Les Salines

Do you love winter and dream of a heavenly place where your family can spend a whole day playing outside and exercising in ways only possible during this beautiful season? Les Salines park will be the best place for you to gather. On site, you can snowshoe, cross-country ski, skate, slide and even snow scooter! In addition, all the necessary equipment is available for rent in the magnificent chalet where you can also warm up for a picnic.

 

Réserve naturelle du Boisé-des-Douze
Saint-Hyacinthe

This time, for a change of pace, we suggest a visit to the Boisé-des-Douze Nature Reserve. Located a stone’s throw away from the city, this broad-leaved forest rich in flora and fauna calls for peace, quiet, revitalization and contemplation. Bring your binoculars and have fun taking some photos. It is very likely that you will come across some birds there. The trails are also open to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing enthusiasts.

Parc Casimir-Dessaulles

Casimir-Dessaulles Park becomes an outdoor skating rink during the winter. Skate the 250-meter icy trail during the day, or even in the evening, for a magical atmosphere with music and lights that sparkle in the trees. You can keep your stuff warm in the cloakroom designed for this purpose.

EKÇA Saute

Ooh La La! With its 10,000 square feet of play space, its 22 trampolines, its giant labyrinth, its foam pool and its spider web, the EKÇA Saute amusement center will undoubtedly be a very popular destination for the first week of March. Do not miss your chance!

At Laser-Jeux, you will be immersed in the luminescent universe of this indoors amusement center where you can do two very distinct activities, to your heart’s desires: Laser Tag for a good dose of adrenaline or Glow Golf to practice your accuracy (and your patience!). Put your swimsuits on!

The Corporation Aquatique Maskoutaine organizes several free swim sessions at the Centre Aquatique Desjardins. Come and try the water slide, springboards and water games. The Wibit, an amusement float, will be in the pool every day from 1:30 to 5:25 p.m. (ages 8 and up, $ 1 extra per person). Why not also enjoy the hot tub and two saunas while the kids are playing?
